The Up on the Downs sheme area has a wide range of archaeological and built heritage.  From Bronze Age barrows to World War II the heritage is rich and varied giving an insight into the lives of our ancestors and the military history of the area.  Dover Castle and the Western Heights are both extraordinary and well visited heritage featuires but there is a lot more to discover, record and celebrate.

Projects will both restore some of the scheme area's most vulnerable heritage and also encourage people to discover heritage for themselves and make a lasting difference to our knowledge of the area.
